Greetings, my name is Matthew O’Brien. I work in and on socio-technical systems as a software engineer. I care about solving real-world pain for people involved with those systems. Lately that has led me to an interest in deploy processes, how code behaves in production, and observability.

Outside of work, I’m into food, cooking, and baking. I got my start watching a positively unhealthy amount of Food Network in the early 2000s (when they actually cooked on Food Network). Since then I’ve read widely, taken classes, and even spent a week of vacation to do a stage at a local restaurant.
